What are Luxe Plates?

Luxe Plates are chemical etched stainless steel for personalizing your electronic devices. Luxe Plates add character to your iPhone in a minimal manner. Once I put it on my device, can I remove it?

Yes. We use a special 3M adhesive that is removable on glass surfaces like the iPhone 4/4s or Nexus 4. It will leave a residue on the iPhone 5, but the residue is easily removed without any cleaning agents.


Do you have a discount for bulk orders?

Yes. Email us and we'll tell you about our price breaks and minimum quantities.

Can you make a plate for my device?

If we get enough people asking about a specific device, we'll create a blank for it. Email us to let us know what device you want.

Can I become a Luxe Plates Artist?

Email us a link to your portfolio and attach any specific images that you think would be a good fit. We'll have a look and go from there. We pay royalties based on each Luxe Plate sold with your design.


Can you send me more adhesive for my plate?

Yes. Email us your mailing address and we'll get some out to you.


Do Luxe Plates work with bumpers?

Luxe Plates work really well with bumpers and recommend using them.. The Apple Bumper works great. Also- This one or this one from Amazon work well.

Does it affect my reception?

On iPhone 4 & 4s: No, it does not affect reception. On iPhone 5 Luxe Plate models, the wifi signal may in certain cases be affected. Depending on your router, it's location and configuration WiFi signals may vary. This is not exclusive to Luxe Plates- many other manufacturers of cases impact the iPhone 5 WiFi signal. The super-fast LTE connection remains strong and does not seem to be affected.

Can I make my own Luxe Plate?

What kind of art works best?

Line art and vector art works best, such as logos, type, bold graphics. If you're designing your own artwork lines should not be less than .5pt for the best representation. Artwork must be two colors only - black and white. There can be no grayscale or color on the final luxe plate. If you are submitting a jpeg or other raster based format please make sure the file is as large as possible. 600 x 600 pixels is the minimum.  

Can I use a photo?

You can use an image as long as it's ok to turn the image to black and white. We cannot etch greyscale, or gradations in photos etc. Please see this image as an example. And, another example. Feel free to upload any image you like but keep in mind we have to convert it to black and white.

What kind of file do I need to upload?

You can upload a .pdf .ai .svg and .eps files for best results. You can also upload a .jpg .png .tif .gif .psd but please be advised we have to convert these files to make them work with the etching process. If you are submitting a jpeg or other raster based format please make sure the file is as large as possible. 600 x 600 pixels is the minimum.  

What is the turn-around time on custom orders?

Please be aware that custom plates take 7 to 14 business days to process. This time estimate does not include shipping.
